About Me

Hi there!

My name is Alannah, and I am the photographer behind the lens here at The Captured Collective. I am a mum of three young boys, and a part-time teacher by day. Being a mum and teacher apparently doesn't keep me busy enough - so I decided to add a little hobby biz to the mix!

I picked up a camera back in 2016 when I shadowed my friend in her ventures to becoming a photographer. But, it wasn't until 2018 that I picked up my camera properly - this time as a videographer. I videoed my friends weddings as a way to socially integrate myself at these events as well as creating a little snippet of their most important days.

Then, in 2021 when I was newly postpartum with my second son, and in the throws of poor mental health, my friend reached out to ask if I'd capture her maternity shots. I figured it would be fun, and took her up on this offer...

I found something I enjoyed that gave me that instant satisfaction I was so desperate for. I figured I had nothing to lose, and dived into the world of photography.

My style

I like to capture my sessions as naturally as possible. I will ensure you settle in, find your comfort, guide you a little - but I truly believe some of my best work comes from those in-between moments.

My work is warm, emotive and intimate. Each session boasting a natural connection. I love to be amongst nature and capture the beauty of our home within your sessions.
